19 Weeks!

Wow I can't believe I am almost to the half way point in this pregnancy!! It's going so good and I really love being pregnant! =) I knew I would! We got exciting news this week.....baby is a GIRL!!! We were so shocked! We both really felt like it was going to be a boy!! We had a gender reveal party that night for our family.  We made cupcakes and filled them with pink filling, everyone took a bite at the same time to find out that it as a girl! It was so much fun!! We are still searching for the perfect name for our little princess. I went shopping some this week and baby girl already has about 7 outfits hanging in her closet!! SO fun!! I didn't gain any weight this past month so I felt like that was a good thing, considering I gained 6 pounds the month before! So far I have only gained 9 pounds this entire pregnancy.  We have another appointment on December 28, they are going to do another ultrasound because they didn't get a clear view of her heart.  I am excited to see how much she will have grown by then and also double check that it's a girl! =)

16 Weeks!!

Today I am 16 weeks! 4 months!! Wow! In just one more month I will be 20 weeks, halfway through the pregnancy! That just blows my mind! I am feeling really good lately, my energy level has finally came back up so that is helping a lot!! We have an ultrasound scheduled for November 21 and we are counting down the days! We can't wait to see how big the baby has gotten and also find out if it's a girl or a boy! 

I felt the first tiny baby flutters this past week.  They were very light and quick but it kept happening for a few minutes and I knew what it was! =) It was very cool and a sweet moment!

The baby is now the size of a avocado and measuring about 4 1/2 inches long and 3 ounces.  Baby can also now hear noises and may be startled by loud noises. If that's the care then I am sure my class scares baby on a daily basis! Next time I updated we should know if we are having a son or a daughter!! Can't wait!

12 Weeks!!

Sunday I reached the 12 week mark! 1 more week and my first trimester will be over.  Still feeling good, just tired, but hopefully that will soon be getting better! I don't really have anything new to report on.  We think we have a boy name picked out, but sorry we aren't telling just yet! =) As for girls, I really have no idea, I have a few names I like but none that I completely love...so we'll keep working on that! I know your all really here to see belly pics...so here ya go! I don't care for these pics, Monday afternoon after work and feeling tired! I look blah! But ya get the picture! =)

11 Weeks!

I am 11 weeks today! Two more weeks to go and the first trimester will be over! I have been so blessed and haven't had any morning sickness!! Only a few mornings of feeling a little ick, and then sometimes in the evenings but nothing major at all! Praise God! We had our first Doctor's appointment on Monday.  The doctor was running very behind and we waited 1 1/2 hrs for my appointment time.  I was so happy have Mitchel there to keep me company.  Dr. Sherman checked me out and said everything looks great, my estimated due date is April 23.  She put the doppler on my stomach so we could hear the heartbeat but after several minutes of looking around, she couldn't find it.  She told us not to worry that usually the baby is just still too small to hear.  She then told me to come meet her in the hall and she was going to do an ultrasound so we could see the baby's heartbeat.  It was already 5:00pm at this point and the ultrasound tech had already gone home, so Dr. Sherman did it for us.  It was a very quick ultrasound, she basically just let us see the baby and it's tiny heart beating away!! Wow! What an amazing experience that was! You could even see his/her tiny arms and feet sticking up!! It definitely made our 1 1/2 wait worth it! =) I go back on October 24, I will be 14 weeks then.   It's working out well so far and that every appointment should fall on Mitchel's days off so he will get to go with me! I'm still not really showing yet, my lower stomach is starting to get a little more fullness to it, but nothing anyone else would really notice yet.  Belly pics will be soon though! =) Until next time!!

We're Having A Baby!!!

If your reading this then you probably already knew this news!!! I decided to make this blog to help keep all our family and friends who live away up to date on my pregnancy.  I will try to update regularly and post belly pics!! We are both so excited to begin this journey and become parents!

I am 7 weeks along as of yesterday and feeling pretty good.  I have had a little morning sickness but haven't throw up yet! Which is great! Just a little nauseousness every now and then.  I find that if I let myself go too long without eating, I start feeling yuck. So I am trying not to let that happen. I have been pretty tired in the evening when I get home from work, but that's to be expected.  I was always exhausted the first few week of school without being pregnant! As of right now I am due April 22, 2012.  I see the Doctor for the first time on September 26.  I will be 10 weeks then and will find out more details at that appointment.

Kain

I am dedicating this post to our puppy Kain. For those of you who don't know, we got Kain mid-January. He was a stray that was found on the side of a busy Hwy, about to get hit. A lady Mitchel works with picked him up and took him in. She already had several dogs and couldn't handle another one, so she asked Mitchel to take him. He sent me a picture of him (the one posted above) while I was at work one day, and said "look how cute he is", and told me the story. I agreed that he was super cute, but we were not ready for a puppy, things were so busy at school for me, and at work for Mitchel, we were house hunting and I just couldn't see leaving the little guy at home everyday while we worked. Plus the house we were in was not really set up to have a puppy. I wanted to wait until summer so I could be home withe puppy to housetrain it. He agreed and I didn't hear from him the rest of the afternoon. He gets home from work and tells me he wants to go drive by this house that is for sale that someone at work told him about, I think nothing of it and say ok..so we head out the door. Well.....my sneaky husband was NOT taking me to look at a house, he was taking me to look at the puppy!! Which at the time I was pretty upset about, as I realize it when we are pulling up to the people with the puppy in a parking lot. Anyways....as you can tell..we ended up with the puppy! LOL He was so scared from his rough day and we could immediately tell he was going to be a sweetie.
After taking him to his first vet appt. we learned he was about 9wks old, still very young. He is a mixed breed, we aren't 100% sure, but we think he has boxer and black mouth cur in him. Which are both good dogs so we were happy about that. The next few weeks/months were kinda tough. It was still winter, which is not a good time to try and housebreak a puppy. I was super busy with teaching...and was just stressed!! I have to admit I wasn't very fond of him at first. It was more work than fun..and I guess with all our other stress I just couldn't relax about it. He got into everything and even managed to destore some of my clothing with his puppy teeth! lol

Now, 7 months later we love him to pieces!!!! I couldn't imagine not having him! I never pictured myself with a big dog, I grew up with a little toy poodle, but I have adjusted and it's going good. I am a freak about having a clean house and clean floors so that has been a challenge for me to deal with, but whateve! It is what it is. He stays inside most of the time, and now that's it's so hot outside he really doesn't like staying out for a long period of time! lol But I can't blame him. He keeps us laughing, he is pretty clumsy still. He is a very sweet and fun loving dog. He LOVES Mitchel!! He gets so excited when he gets home from work! But now that I have been home with him this summer, he is getting very attached to me. He follows me around the house all day, and lays on the couch with me. He pretty much keeps me company while Mitchel is working. He loves to eat ice, look out the windows, play in the sprinkler, lick, he will seriously lick you silly! He loves any form of water, HATES loud noises. He is scared of the vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, my swiffer sweeper, the lawn mower, and basically anything with a motor that makes noise! He gets super jealous of Mitchel hugging me or giving me a kiss and tries to work his way in between us! He is so spoiled rotten but Mitchel is to blame for that one!! He is definately our "baby" right now. Don't know how he will react when a little McDaniel comes into the picture(no,not happeneing anytime soon!) He is pretty well behaved, he is still learning commands and is a little stubborn at times, but he is still a puppy.
We know he is going to be a great dog and he is definately a part of our family and very loved!

First Post

I decided to join the world of blogspot. I used to have a xanga page and enjoyed blogging on it when I had the time, then life got busy and I let it slip away. I hope I can keep this up!! It will be a good way to document and look back on things that happen in our life! Here's a little update on the happenings around the McDaniel house.

I am officially on my first summer break after completing my first year of teaching!!! My year went great and I feel very blessed to be finally be doing what I have always dreamed of since I was a little girl! I can honestly say I love my job and I love my career!! This is my first actual summer in a few years to have nothing major going on, no college classes, no wedding to plan, I am getting to sit back and enjoy it! And it's great!!! I have gotten a little bored a few times but I quickly remind myself how soon I will be back at it and things will be crazy and I get "un-bored"!

I have had a lot of time to get our new house unpacked and organized!!! Pictures will come soon! I promise! I still need Mitchel to hang a ton of stuff on the walls for me to decorate, but everything is finally unpacked and put into homes, so that is a good feeling.

The only downfall to having all this time off is that, Mitchel doesn't! He is actually busier than ever at work right now. He's been working 6 days a week 12 hour days! He may even have to work Sunday this week. I really wish he had some time off with me, but that's just how it is this summer. They are preparing to start up new units at the refinery and he is part of the start up team, so...lots of work for him.

Our puppy Kain is keeping me company while Mitchel works. He is 7 months old now and growing so much! We have grown very close lately and he is my little buddy! He loves to snuggle with me on the couch. I never thought I would enjoy having a large dog in the house, but I have gotten used to it and I couldn't imagine our lives without him now.

We have almost been married a year already!! This year has flown by!!! It has been wonderful being married! Mitchel is truly a wonderful husband and my best friend! If this first year is any indication of how busy our lives are going to be in the future...oh my! I better get ready! lol But I was just starting my career, and getting married at the same time, and we were in the process of buying a house, so I'd say we had a lot going on. Anyways, I wouldn't change any of it for the world!! God has been so good to us! I love my life and I love my husband!!
